Collingwood School and Media Arts College is a very special place
At our school we aim to provide a caring, supportive and inclusive environment, which has high expectations and values all members within the school community. We respect the needs and aspirations of all individuals and provide opportunities for all pupils to make the best possible progress and attain the highest personal achievements.
The school has a tradition of being a caring and friendly environment for children; this ethos stems from the high calibre and commitment of staff and governors where we encourage all children to be enthusiastic and committed learners who aim to develop their confidence, capacity to learn and work independently and collaboratively.
We are helping out the Greater Morpeth Development Trust with this year’s Morpeth Book Festival.
Our student Media crews are researching, filming and producing a series of video interviews with some of our region’s authors; including the creator of the Vera series, Ann Cleeves.
The picture here shows Ann Cleeves with our Writer in Residence, Ms Holland and Head Teacher Mrs Linkleter surrounded by our student interviewers and Media crew.
Sensory Garden Boost..!
Thanks to the generosity of our local Co-op, work can now start on the refurbishment of the sensory garden at Collingwood.
The photo here shows Head Teacher Gillian Linkleter (centre left) and Deputy Head Susan Major (centre right) being presented with a cheque for an astounding £3820 by staff from the Loansdean Co-op in Morpeth.
