About Tessellations
Question. How do you combine Maths with Art? Simply choose to use tessellation!
A tessellation covers a surface with repeating shapes with no overlaps or gaps.
We discussed which shapes would help us to create the patterns we wanted to achieve. This technique has been used by quiltmakers for hundreds of years and many of the shapes have names. We let our imaginations lead us to create our very own pattern using textiles and card.
