About our Sixth Form

Sixth form is an exciting next step for young people on their pathway toward adulthood. We want young people to be happy and enjoy their learning, seize opportunities and make the most of their valuable time here.

Mission Statement

The Sixth Form at Collingwood School and Media Arts College provides a curriculum which allows young people to grow in a safe, welcoming and stimulating environment. Students are given the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills, qualifications and attributes which will equip them for a successful future in further education, employment and life.

Students will follow a personalised bespoke curriculum tailored to their individual needs and interests. We have a range of accredited courses available for our young people to study; from entry level through to GCSE.

In addition to academic achievement our curriculum offers the development of independence and life skills as well as opportunities to develop entrepreneurial skills or  experience work placements, through our links with local businesses such as Alnwick Gardens, Belsay Hall and Gardens and Clark’s Nature Reserve.
