Course accreditation is flexible at the woodlands to accommodate the needs and interests of the individual pupils.
Art subjects can be accredited through WJEC, BTec, Arts Award etc.

We also have courses hosted by external providers such as the NUFC Foundation, Blyth Tall Ships and Bike 4 Health.

Class Sizes and Groups

All pupils who attend the Woodlands will follow a Green pathway or a Yellow pathway. They are all assessed on entry.

There is a wide and balanced curriculum offering vocational and enrichment activities to complement the academic. The social and emotional support, behaviour regulation, engagement and raising of aspirations are fundamental pillars in our curriculum, these run parallel and have equal importance to our academic curriculum.

At The Woodlands, every pupil will feel part of our positive community, highly trained staff creating a calm environment where our pupils feel safe and achieve.
Pupils will be taught within their class groups, in their class bases for the core curriculum and follow the same model as Collingwood’s main site. If a pupil wishes to access a subject that is delivered on the main site that will be arranged
