Collingwood’s young people have done themselves proud this year, as they gained excellent grades in a wide range of examined subjects. They are to be praised especially highly for having performed exceptionally well despite the inevitable Covid- related disruption.
A few headline figures: Record numbers of pupils achieved Entry Level qualifications. Students passed at Level 1 and 2 in Functional Skills English and Maths, BTEC Construction, Workskills and Creative iMedia. 20 students passed GCSE Mathematics, some gaining the qualification at level 5- an amazing achievement! and 13 gained the GCSE Biology qualification.
A large number of students passed GCSE with two candidates passing at Level 6 – superb results!
We wish all the best to our Sixth Form leavers, who are moving on to exciting new opportunities. Two especially notable examples are Matthew who has gone on to study for a Level 3 qualification in Sound Engineering at Newcastle College and Ethan, who is now in full-time employment with N B Clark.
