Collingwood School and Media Arts College is a very special place
At our school we aim to provide a caring, supportive and inclusive environment, which has high expectations and values all members within the school community. We respect the needs and aspirations of all individuals and provide opportunities for all pupils to make the best possible progress and attain the highest personal achievements.
The school has a tradition of being a caring and friendly environment for children; this ethos stems from the high calibre and commitment of staff and governors where we encourage all children to be enthusiastic and committed learners who aim to develop their confidence, capacity to learn and work independently and collaboratively.
Our ungraded (Section 8) Ofsted inspection
We are pleased to share that our school recently received an ungraded (Section 8) Ofsted inspection, which aims to confirm whether the school continues to provide a good standard of education. Inspectors spent time observing lessons, speaking with pupils and staff, and reviewing key aspects of school life, including teaching, learning, and safeguarding. We are proud of how our school community came together during the visit.
Phoenix Show - 2025
Collingwood’s summer show this year was our first to be staged at the Phoenix Theatre at Blyth in Northumberland.
Our show, a kaleidoscope of song and dance across the decades, was a fantastic success and we have had some incredibly positive feedback from parents, governors and our school partners about the event.
Pupil Information Centre
Find out all about our Pupil Information Centre, affectionately known to pupils and staff as the P.I.C. Located at the heart of our school, the P.I.C is a designated space that all pupils have access to when in need of a little extra support.
