Collingwood School and Media Arts College is an all age SEN school situated on the outskirts of Morpeth, Northumberland. The school provides a caring, supportive and inclusive environment which has high expectations and values all members of the school community.
The School is looking to appoint a School Business Manger to be responsible for the school’s premises, staffing and financial systems and procedures, ensuring that all legal and safety requirements relating to people and property are met. This includes overseeing HR and facilities management issues, monitoring the resources budget, maintaining financial systems and supporting bids for additional funding.
The School Business Manager (Premises and Staffing) will report to the School Business Leader. They will line manage a team of support staff, including the site manager, caretaking and cleaning team and some admin staff.
We have a range of facilities to provide the very best education that we can for our young people. We have an amazing library, sensory room, sensory garden, our own heated swimming pool, a Personal Education Centre located in a bespoke lodge, a Pupil Support Centre situated in the heart of the school, a Well-being centre, a conference lodge, a Forest school area complete with Roundhouse and a superb media suite with animation, sound and video recording/editing facilities.
Collingwood Connect is an outreach service for Collingwood pupils unable to attend full time education, based at our Rivergreen site. The 6th Form is based at The FUSE at Prudhoe and we have a vocational education centre based at Hepscott Park as well as our main site at Stobhillgate, Morpeth.

Collingwood School & Media Arts College is a community special school that caters for pupils aged 2 to 19 with a wide range of special educational needs. The school offers a specialised learning environment to support the additional requirements of our pupils.
We are looking to appoint conscientious and hardworking individuals to clean within our sites at Stobhillgate and at Hepscott Park. The successful candidates will clean a range of areas including toilets, classrooms, kitchens etc. Duties will include emptying bins, mopping and vacuuming floors so regular stooping, bending and lifting will be required.

The Governors of the school are seeking enthusiastic, self-motivated teaching assistant(s) to work across the school. Successful candidate(s) will join a team of teaching assistants committed to raising standards and providing support to the teaching and learning agenda.
The role requires specialist skills and knowledge working with children with substantial additional challenges. We are recruiting for 2 of our sites – Collingwood Main Site in Morpeth, and our Woodlands site at Hepscott Park, Morpeth.
We have a number of full time vacancies across both sites, and two part time – the part time posts will be to work
i) 2 days per week (Thursday and Friday) at our main site
ii) 2 days per week (Monday and Tuesday) at our main site

School Staffing Co-ordinator

We are recruiting for a Staffing Co-ordinator to join our team. This is a key role responsible for organising effective and efficient coordination of daily staff absences across all 4 of our school sites, to ensure that high-quality teaching and learning continues with minimal disruption when teachers or other staff are absent.
It is crucial for the role that you have excellent organisational skills with critical thinking to look at the most cost effective way of covering lessons across the School, you will be managing complex daily schedules and working on your own initiative, whilst maintaining up to date records and using the school MIS System – SIMS.
You will work closely with the Business Manager and Senior Leadership Team to ensure HR processes such as recruitment, appraisal and sickness absence are effective and consistent across the School. You will also update employee records and prepare paperwork for our payroll provider to strict deadlines and a high level of accuracy.
You will also support the wider school administration team when needed.
Excellent literacy and numeracy skills and a meticulous attention to detail will be needed, however tact, diplomacy and tenacity to deal with situations which are sensitive or may result in conflict is equally important.
The working hours will be Monday to Friday 7.30am to 3.30pm with a half hour lunch. These times may change from time to time to meet the operational needs of the school. Where this is necessary time off in lieu will be given. Holidays are to be taken during school holiday periods.
